  • 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

How to Make Osterbrot

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk, let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  4. Knead into a smooth dough and fold in the raisins and almonds.
  5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
